This refers to work done in preparation for either: afforestation of open field areas; the natural regeneration of desirable species ( i.e. oaks, walnut, ash) in existing forest areas, or the underplanting of an existing forest to supplement natural regeneration. Site preparation work can be done either mechanically or with herbicides.
